Noel, Joy, Merry Christmas
Billy Joel and Jimmy Fallon Form 2-Man Doo-Wop Group Using iPad App. This is very cool clip from tonight show and it’s great to see the piano man having so much fun.
The year is waning fast, and it is precious time to us. We have the power to render others happy or unhappy.
We have the power to make their days light or burdensome, and their work a pleasure or a toil.
Our power lies in words or looks, in things so small that it is impossible to add and count them up.

Merry Christmas to the ladies that shaped my world early on. My mother Sharon on the left and my grandmother Lindsay (Gram) on the right. This picture was taken in the early 90’s at the Mill Race Inn on State Street in Geneva, IL. I grew up there as a sprout ages 1-8. It was a very nice town and everyone knew Gram and Sherry.
I miss both of them this time of year and also at the beginning of football season. Mom was a packer backer and Gram was a “da bears” fan. Gram was born on December 22nd and Sherry was born on December 23rd.
I miss these ladies very much, but they are in my heart at christmas this and every year.
Merry Christmas Mom and Gram!

Murray Christmas 2014 and a Happy New Year!

Yet another example of why you don’t get a cat in the first place.

It has come to light that the Country on North Korea hacked into Sony Pictures Studios in California and played cyber games with data and information they stole. They also threatened retaliation to theaters in the US if the Seth Rogan / James Franco movie “the interview” ever saw the light of well viewership.
George Clooney, Barack Obama and a host of others have asked Sony CEO Michael Lynton to release the film if not in theaters then online, free for mass consumption. Rolling over and letting a terrorist regime dictate what we can or cannot watch goes against everything America stands for.
More Importantly however is the revelation that the Spectre Script for the next James Bond Film was also stolen in the hack. This is very unsettling considering James Bond is on the upswing having been reborn with a new Bond and a slew of good scripts and movies. One solution I see staring me in the face is sending Bond in himself to take out the North Korean leader.

You will be ok

Last night I attended perhaps my last social media event in Boston. It was #nogup7 and I felt like an outsider. I guess it could be that I sat off to the side, that I was reluctant to engage, that I was more interested to see my gf than perhaps the twitterati and facebook friends who don’t even recognize me anymore. There was a time when being part of the social media scene in Boston was cool, for me personally I think those days are over.
I had hoped to get to know some of these social folks better than I have. I even tried engaging them on facebook, the one platform where I am really me (well mostly) and that didn’t work. I dabbled in google+, nothing. Granted, I wasn’t trying to sell anything, market anything, I just wanted to get to know more about the people I had connected with. Contrary to popular belief, I really like people, and I miss having good friends close by.
I guess perhaps that I secretly hoped some of these social media introductions might matriculate into (GASP) real long term friendships.
What was I thinking?

Some Monday’s feel more like Monday’s than others…
